Annual Youth Expo
The Youth Services Department of New Directions Southcoast, Inc. and the Greater New Bedford Career Center host an Annual Youth Career Expo, which is an event that provides youth between the ages of 16-24 with employment opportunities. Many young people struggle to find work during the summer months and when unsuccessful, they find themselves turning to unhealthy choices. New Directions and The Greater New Bedford Career Center are committed to providing activities or employment opportunities to all interested youth. The level of preparation put forth by the youth who attended last year’s event surely impressed employers and community programs that participated.
With numbers reaching over 500 youth in attendance in past years, the Annual Youth Career Expo is without a doubt, one of the city’s biggest youth events!
The expo always falls on the last Friday during school vacation in April.
